Fritz Peterson and Greg Strobel will go “On the Mat” this Wednesday, May 30.

“On the Mat” is a presentation of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum. The show can be heard live on the Internet at www.kcnzam.com or locally in Northeast Iowa each Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Central on AM 1650, The Fan.

Peterson will make his first appearance at the Dan Gable Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday, June 11. He is a former major league baseball player who played for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Texas Rangers from 1966 to 1976. Peterson has the lowest all-time earned run average in old Yankee stadium history at 2.52 (an honor he will keep since Yankee stadium was torn down).

Strobel will enter the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Okla., as a Distinguished Member. He was an NCAA champion for Oregon State in 1973 and 1974. Strobel was the head wrestling coach at Lehigh from 1994 through 2008 where his teams compiled a 189-83-1 dual meet record.
